The energy storage industry has undergone rapid development. According to data from China Energy Storage Alliance (CNESA) Global Energy Storage Database, by the end of 2023, power storage installment in the world reached 289.2GW, indicating an annual growth of 21.9%. According to the Energy Storage Industry Research White Paper 2024, it is expected that new energy storage installment will reach 221.2GW in 2030.

Energy storage technologies are constantly evolving. From the invention of solar cells in the 1960s, to new energy storage technologies such as supercapacitors, fuel cells, hydrogen storage technology, and superconducting batteries, as well as lithium-ion batteries, sodium-ion batteries, liquid flow batteries, supercapacitors, compressed air storage, and superconducting energy storage: every technological innovation has boosted the development of the energy storage industry.

With the large-scale introduction of renewable energy to the power grid, the demand for energy storage systems is soaring, claiming an increasingly important role in balancing supply and demand, improving the efficiency of energy use, and ensuring the safe and stable operation of the power grid.

Energy Storage Zone

Highlights of the International Digital Energy Expo 2024

The International Digital Energy Expo 2024 will run from September 8 to 11, in Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center. Themed "Smart and Digital Energy for Tomorrow", the 2024 Expo will feature 7 major zones in an area of about 50,000 square meters, including Energy Storage, Electric Power System, New Energy, Core Components of Energy Storage, Digitalization in Energy, Energy Support Services and International Pavilions. The Energy Storage zone will take center stage by presenting its status quo, latest technologies and commercialization potential.

Last year, the International Digital Energy Expo 2023 showcased 407 leading digital energy exhibitors from more than 100 countries and regions and attracted nearly 68,000 professional visitors. There were 99 innovations released during the event, as well as contracts worth over 5 billion RMB signed. The event was covered by more than 10 foreign media outlets in Chinese, English, French, German, Spanish and other languages and re-aired for over 11,000 times, receiving highly favorable feedback from exhibitors.

Highlights of the Energy Storage Zone

From Core Technologies to Innovation Carriers

The Energy Storage Zone of the 2024 Expo will display cutting-edge technologies and innovative products. Exhibitors will showcase how supercharging technology can enable batteries to be charged rapidly, meeting consumers' great need for efficiency. In terms of power charging, storage and discharging systems, intelligent dispatching will be shown to optimize grid operation and improve energy utilization efficiency. The virtual power plant will demonstrate how to integrate dispersed energy resources through digital tools to achieve the optimal allocation of energy. The charging pile industry chain will present full-scale services from design to manufacturing, empowering the development of charging infrastructure.

Leading players such as China National Petroleum Corporation, Vanbang Digital Energy and Shenzhen ABB Electric Transportation Technology will present their latest energy storage products and technologies, including high-energy-density storage batteries and intelligent energy storage management systems, inspiring the industry with their new ideas.
